•Goodbyes• When the most incredible babysitter in the universe has to start adulting with a 9-5 job and you are going to miss her so much it hurts, you make a big beautiful book telling her all the ways you love her. ❤️ ✨ Oh man. So many tears today. This loss is huge for us. Annie has brought us an abundance of light and love and we will have a massive hole in our weekly routine without her. (Not to mention, I’m going to flail a bit without my me time)💔 ✨ But this isn’t a true goodbye as we will count the days between date nights when we will see her again. 🥂 ✨ #babysitter #wewillmissyou #adultingsucks #mamatime #goodbyesarehard

•Sunday picnic• Absolutely perfect day to throw down a blanket, read some books, & climb some trees. ☀️ ✨ Now that our youngest is 3, we are really starting to see the light shining bright at the end of the “life with a baby/toddler” tunnel. As wonderful as that stage can be, there’s a certain level of independence that we haven’t known for almost 9 years. Every time we reached this stage before, we went and had another baby. But now instead of turning back the clock, we’re moving forward and that little bit of freedom is liberating. We can enjoy a few laid back moments and not constantly do the hustle of keeping small humans alive. 👌🏻 ✨ Life is good. ❤️ ✨ #picnic #thefamilythatreadstogether #picnicwithkids #easylikesunday #climbtrees #familypicnic #my3kids #familytime

•Magic moment• Never mind the fighting and whining that happened before and will certainly happen soon after this moment. •The Peace Counter• So 240 days ago, my marriage was in a tough spot. A relentless home renovation and challenging living conditions were pushing our stress levels through the roof. Because our nerves were so exposed and raw, we were fighting everyday and were beyond miserable. 😢 ✨ Deep down, we knew our arguments had nothing to do with our relationship, but rather all the stress swarming around us. On a whim, my husband started keeping a tally of how many days we went without fighting. And I don’t mean harmless disagreements, but rather those irrational, losing our shit, yelling for no real reason battles. The ones where we stop respecting each other and say things we do not mean. The ones that were chipping away at us and leaving us wounded and weary. 🤕 ✨ This simple counter, which we’ve since named the peace counter, has somehow saved us. Just the simple goal & commitment to being happy has changed everything. ❤️ ✨ We’ve had to reset the counter twice since that day. Once at 41 days and then the last time was at day *99*. Yesterday we hit 100 and we were so proud! We had a date night to celebrate! •urban wildlife• We worked so hard cleaning up the backyard today. Living under a massive maple tree has its pros & cons. The amount of leaves & seeds that beast rains down is...well a lot. It’s like having a 4th child to clean up behind. 🌳 ✨ While we raked & swept, the kids found countless little “friends”. •Fierce• This girl has stepped her sass game up. She’s got it turned up to 11. 🙌 ✨ Everyday I walk the fine line of not squashing her spirit & strong will and keeping that girl in check.
