•Snow Fun• Finally. All winter we have had these snow storms that finish with slushy rain leaving it less than desirable to get out and play in. I was so excited to finally have a good ol’ New England snow storm today when my whole family could be home to enjoy it together. ❄️ ✨ Snowball fights, fun with slow mo shots, a somewhat successful family selfie & even a shot with my love ❤️ ✨ We came inside and warmed up with cups of hot chocolate and board games. ☕️ ✨ Perfect snow day ⛄️💫 ✨ #snowday #slowmotion #slowmosnow #slowmotionsnow #familyselfie #snowball #snowballfight

•snow day• Good morning snow! •poop doula• 💩 That’s right. These last few weeks I’ve added poop doula to my lists of jobs. My daughter has been potty training since Christmas and she’s doing great except for when it’s time to poop. She screams: “Mama! Hold my hand! It’s coming!!” And then I take her hand, rub her back while she breathes heavy and labors for a moment before she gives up, pops up off the potty and says “Maybe later.” Over and over a million times a day. 🤦🏻‍♀️ ✨ I hear myself saying things like: “You can do this, let it go.” Or “Your body was made to do this.” Seriously. It’s pretty ridiculous. 😂 ✨ Any other mamas ever found themselves in a poop doula role? How do we move past this?!? My boys never had this problem. I actually think it’s fear and not constipation. •Sunset• That sunset at FOUR THIRTY was on fire this afternoon. •Sunday morning• I finally get a turn in the book nook with an embroidery project while the boys work on a draw bridge to their cardboard castle. •Fresh start• So as many of you know, we have been living with our life upside down and wrong side out for about 9 months while we gut over half of our tiny house to rebuild it into a space that would accommodate our family of 5 for many years to come. 🏠 ✨ Half way through this renovation, my husband and I realized that the stress of living with the chaos of a renovation day in and day out was starting to eat away at us. Our nerves were raw and the threshold from holding it together and losing our shit was paper thin. We were fighting A LOT. 😬 ✨ We had a make or break moment and decided we needed to work hard on holding our marriage together or else this massive transformation renovation was going to end us.😞 ✨ On a whim, my husband started a count up, a “day’s since last accident” sort of count up like you’d see in a factory, to keep track of how many days we had gone without a fight. At first it felt insignificant but as that number increased, it became everything. ❤️ ✨ We celebrated the days that felt important..2 weeks, a month, 50 days! We would have disagreements, sure...I mean, we’re human, but they never escalated and we weren’t raising our voices anymore. Something about a little number on the corner of our board made a huge impact.👍 ✨ 3 days ago, we finally moved back into our bedroom. There’s still a ton of finishes to be done before this renovation is actually over, but everyone is in their own rooms and we can start to feel our new space. On this day we were to move into our bedroom, we lost it. I had been working around the clock to get the room ready to move into, we were on day 3 of potty training our youngest, stress & exhaustion were high. We were pushed over the edge and we fought. It was a short fight, 5 minutes at most, but we both yelled and said things we regret. 💔 ✨ It was day 99. We were looking forward to celebrating 100. We were both a little devastated, but we also were able to recognize the fight was about stress & exhaustion and not really about us. We decided this was, in some ways, a perfect mistake as we were wiping the slate clean and have a fresh start in our fresh new house. 🙌 ✨ #realstagram #marriage #makeitwork
