•sick day• This little one spent her day with fever blazing after a night of puking. Left one tired Mama after holding her hand and watching her all night long. I know fevers are a good thing, but they shake me up every time. Thankfully she ended the day with a bite or two of dinner and a little more pep in her step. •Reindeer• 2 year old: Hey Mama! Me: Yes? 2 (whispering): Say yes reindeer Me: Oh! Yes, Reindeer? 2: ....... (huge grin) 😂🦌🎄 ✨ And yes, that’s a rabbit ears headband in the background. •Nearing the end• We have been living through a massive house renovation for 8 months now. It has turned our life upside down and there have been many days that I felt like I was barely hanging on by my fingernails. ✨ This weekend we were given the green light to move into 2 of the bedrooms upstairs + 1 bathroom. I’ve missed showering in my home so, so much. ✨ For weeks I’ve been saying that all I want for Christmas is my house back. Well today, it was like I was unwrapping a present as I pulled the paper off the brand new floors. I spent all day cleaning and vacuuming, moving furniture and setting things in their place. ✨ I took this one quiet moment to sit on my new floors and soak in the sun pouring in through the windows. •Countdown candle• This is one of our favorite holiday traditions. Every night around dinner we light the candle until it burns past that day’s number. And *every year*, at least once, I forget it for a minute and we burn the candle down too far. Tonight we burned down to 8 🤦🏻‍♀️ Every year. •renovation life• We have been living in renovation life for 8 months now. This has been our bedroom since we ran out of alternative free housing (nearly 4 months) ✨ A family of 5 sleeping in one room. 1 King size bed, 1 bunk bed, 1 crib. All smashed together without an ounce of breathing space in between them. Cozy? Perhaps, hygge, renovation style? ✨ This is actually my dining room (though it was also once a living room, I change rooms around a lot) ✨ My favorite part is the haphazard blankets and tapestries I’ve hung, as a money saving solution for a temporary window treatment so we’re not in a fishbowl as neighbors walk by. #urbanlife It screams college dorm room. Real classy. ✨ All I want for Christmas is bedrooms. With doors. Oh, and maybe a shower.
